Gogobot – because planning the trip should be as fun as the trip itself.

Gogobot is the new boom (well, not so new, it was released in 2010) on trip planning websites and mobile apps. It’s been categorized as one of the 50 best websites of 2011, by TIME magazine, and with all true reason.

It has a philosophy that sharing your experiences should be as simple as touching the screen on your phone, and they sure make it look that way.

Gogobot is a website that helps you plan your trips, recommend, get recommendations about destinations and share them as the trips goes along. But, it has a twist! Its difference between TripAdvisor or even Yelp, is that you can get recommendations by your own friends orpeople with the same interests. That way is more trusting than some source you know nothing about. Amazing, huh? It doesn’t stop there. Gogobot includes a very useful feature that I’m sure my fellow socialmedia freaks will love, its integration with other social medias sites such as Facebook and Foursquare. Where you can ask a question about any destination of your interest and it can go to either of the websites mentioned and get answers by your own community, also it helps create albums with the pictures taken on the trip. How awesome is that? When talking about pictures, the Travel Collections takes it up a notch, publishing your trips in a flipboard-like layout, making it look like some sort of scrapbook in the Gogobot website.

About the recommendations, by doing one you can match them with photos, maps and links, that way it saves a friends, or even yourself time by not having to search it and just having it laid out for you.

Another feature that’s mind blowing is its Passport platform. This saves all places you’ve recommended or been with picture, maps and links representations so that way when recommending a destination, it’s already there and you don’t have to type it twice. So, not only is it fun, but it is as simple as that.

Now with the iOS app, it’s much easier to share your trips and experiences. When asked for opinion on this new app, users just described it as Tripadvisor, Pinterest, Hipster and Instagram’s lovechild.  Woah, taking on some big shoes. The app enables you to transform your photos by applying filters on them and posting them on the website. It also helps you ask for travel recommendations on a specific location, check out detailed hotel information, look through amazing pictures and read awesome reviews about different destinations of your interest.

You can download the iOS app here.

So if you’re thinking on going on a trip, you now know that easiest way to plan it, share it or/and recommend it. Looking forward to seeing your trip stories!
